Did you know that there are points in the body where our energy accumulates? Welcome to this article, where you will discover the Chakras and how they can help you improve your health.
THE MEANING OF THE CHAKRAS
According to Hindu tradition, chakras are energy points, in the shape of a disc or wheel, located in the body, and whose blockage or misalignment can cause both physical and emotional health problems. The chakras are responsible for ensuring that universal energy, known as prana in the Hindu tradition, or chi in the Taoist tradition, flows freely through the body reaching all vital organs. According to Indian acient wisdom, people absorb vital energy or prana when they breathe, and the chakras distribute that energy throughout the body.
Chakra comes from the Sanskrit term cakra, which means “wheel”. In turn, the term cakra comes from an even more ancient one in the proto-Indo-European language: kweklos, from which the words “wheel” and “circle” were derived in the Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, and Proto-Germanic languages.
The various Hindu sources sometimes speak of 6 chakras and other times of 7 chakras or energy points distributed throughout the body. Today it is commonly accepted that there are seven chakras, which we will see below.
WHICH ARE THE 7 CHAKRAS AND WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES?
According to sacred traditions, the seven chakras would be the following:
ROOT CHAKRA (MULADHARA)
Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra governs our sense of safety, security, and survival. It is associated with the element of earth and the color red, symbolizing stability, grounding, and the connection to the physical body and the material world.
SACRAL CHAKRA (SVADHISTHANA)
Situated in the lower abdomen, the sacral chakra is linked to our creativity, emotions, and sexuality. It is associated with the element of water and the color orange, representing fluidity, passion, and the cultivation of healthy relationships.
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA (MANIPURA)
Located in the upper abdomen, the solar plexus chakra governs our personal power, self-esteem, and confidence. It is associated with the element of fire and the color yellow, symbolizing inner strength, courage, and transformation.
HEART CHAKRA (ANAHATA)
Positioned at the center of the chest, the heart chakra is the seat of love, compassion, and connection. It is associated with the element of air and the color green or pink, representing harmony, balance, and the integration of the lower and higher aspects of our being.
THROAT CHAKRA (VISHUDDHA)
Located at the throat, the throat chakra governs communication, self-expression, and authenticity. It is associated with the element of sound and the color blue, symbolizing truth, clarity, and the power of voice and expression.
THIRD EYE CHAKRA (AJNA)
Situated between the eyebrows, the third eye chakra is the center of intuition, insight, and inner wisdom. It is associated with the element of light and the color indigo, representing perception, intuition, and the ability to see beyond the physical realm.
CROWN CHAKRA (SAHASRARA)
Located at the crown of the head, the crown chakra is the gateway to higher consciousness, spiritual enlightenment, and universal connection. It is associated with the element of consciousness itself and the color violet or white, symbolizing purity, divinity, and the union of the individual self with the universal consciousness.
BLOCKED CHAKRAS AND HEALTH PROBLEMS
There is a clear connection between the general health status of the individual and the alignment and blocking of the chakras. The symptoms of having a blocked or misaligned chakra manifest themselves with acute pain focused on one point, or situations of anxiety and stress. On some occasions, digestive problems, headaches, fatigue, and different symptoms without apparent connection may also occur.
Below we are going to review those health problems that can occur in the event of blockage of each of the chakras, as well as the sensations that are felt once the unblocking or alignment has been achieved.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE ROOT CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment of this chakra can cause pain in the lower extremities, tiredness in the legs, fear, pessimism, lack of confidence in the future, and a feeling of personal and family instability.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE SACRAL CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment in this chakra can cause pain in the groin or lower abdomen. It may also be related to loss of sexual desire and lack of interest in relationships in general.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment in this chakra can be felt as pain in the abdomen, lack of self-confidence, insecurity and shyness, anxiety, insecurity with physical appearance or rejection of one’s own body, and in some cases digestive problems.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE HEART PLEXUS CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment of this chakra can be perceived with chest pain, sentimental problems, lack of interest in romantic relationships, lack of compassion and empathy, and in the most serious cases even cruelty, arrogance, and contempt towards disadvantaged people.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE THROAT CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment of this chakra can be associated with sore throat, difficulty in speaking, lack of specificity in expressions and stiffness in gestures.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment of this chakra can be associated with headaches, difficulty concentrating, problems with perception, decreased mental acuity and sometimes even confusion and memory problems.
SYMPTOMS AND CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING THE CROWN CHAKRA BLOCKED.
A misalignment of this chakra can be associated with headaches, lack of vital goals, general apathy towards life, and in the most severe cases even depression.
Sometimes it is easy to know which of the chakras is blocked because the symptoms manifest in the area where that chakra resides or are clearly focused, but on other occasions the discomfort is more general, and this may be because there is more than one chakra blocked (or even all of them).
HOW TO UNBLOCK AND CLEANSE THE CHAKRAS?
There are different ways to clean energy blockages on the chakras, the most common being the following:
Meditation: guided meditation practices can help to open the chakras and restore the energy flux.
Yoga: some kind of yoga positions can help to unblock the chakras, and even some others are specifically designed for that purpose.
Breathwork: specific breath practices, called Pranayama, can help regulating the absorbed prana throw the respiration process.
Sound healing: Sound therapy, using instruments such as singing bowls, tuning forks, or chanting, can help to harmonize the chakras. Sound vibrations penetrate deep into the body, clearing blockages and restoring balance to the energy centers.
Energetic crystals and gemstones: energetic crystals can help to cleanse the chakras by amplifying the energy flowing through the organism. Here is where the orgone energy and orgonites can help.
It is not easy to know how long a therapy should be followed until it gives results, and it will depend on the level of blockage that exists in the chakras. There are cases of treatments that last a few weeks or even days, and others that can last for months until improvements in symptoms are observed.
The unblocking of the chakras is most of the time perceived as a gradual improvement of the symptoms detected. For example, a patient who is being successfully treated for misalignment of the Sacral chakra will gradually notice an improvement in sexual desire, desire to establish new relationships, etc. Likewise, someone who is being treated for the Throat chakra will notice a gradual improvement in their expressiveness, their ease of communication, as well as an improvement in their ability to communicate more specifically. Or in the case of Third Eye, someone who is being treated for a blockage in this Chakra will notice a gradual improvement in concentration, mental acuity, memory and even perception of reality.
In general, and if you have several blocked chakras, there is no order in which they should begin to be unblocked or a chakra more important than another. It should be the therapist who determines the best strategy to follow based on the person’s symptoms.
OPENING THE CHAKRAS WITH ORGONITES. THE POWER OF ORGONE ENERGY.
One of the ways, often quite unknown, to unblock the chakras is by harnessing orgone energy and using orgonites. Developed by Wilhelm Reich, the central concept of orgone theory consists of orgone energy, a universal energy that flows in all living organisms on Earth and that can be channeled and used through orgone accumulators and generators, also called orgonites.
Orgonites, composed of resin, metals, and so-called orgonite crystals, radiate orgone energy. When used correctly, they can help unblock the chakras. They are normally pyramid or pendant shaped, although there are more variants. Orgonites can be used in combination with other more traditional therapies for cleansing chakras such as meditation or yoga.
Below is a recommendation chart on the type of orgonite to use to unblock each chakra. It is always recommended to seek guidance from a specialist to establish the most appropriate therapy or combination of therapies.
Symbol | Chakra | Orgonite | How to do |
---|---|---|---|
Root Chakra | Red jasper Orgone Pyramid | Place the orgonite on the extremities while doing yoga | |
Sacral Chakra | Carnelian Orgone Pyramid or Pendant | Place the orgonite on the lower abdomen while doing yoga | |
Solar Plexus Chakra | Citrine or carnelian Orgone Pyarmid or Pendant | Place the orgonite on the upper abdomen while doing yoga | |
Heart Chakra | Rose quartz or malachite Orgone pyramid or pendant | Wear an orgonite in the area while doing yoga | |
Throat Chakra | Aquamarine Orgone Necklace or Pyramid | Wear an orgonite in the area while doing yoga | |
Third Eye Chakra | Lapis Lazuli or Amethyst Orgone Pendant | Wear an orgonite in the area while doing yoga | |
Crown Chakra | Clear quartz pyramid | Place the orgonite on your head while doing yoga. Use the orgonite while sleeping. |
There is no specific recommendation for how often a chakra clearing should be done, however it is advisable to carry out the combination of therapies with orgone energy at least once a month, or if possible once a week to maintain chakras unlocked.
